Dropshipping Your Printing Orders | Must Read!!

Dropshipping Your Printing Orders

Today, companies are using dropshipping for printing orders rather than ordering them directly from a print shop. Why? Mainly because it is more affordable this way, and it offers many benefits. Whether you are a small or large business, the world of dropshipping will work for you. Many businesses are still not familiar with the dropshipping concept and how it works. Traditionally, retailers are required to tie up large amounts of capital purchasing inventory, whereas dropshipping is completely different. Want to learn more about how dropshipping your printing orders can benefit your business? Read below to learn more about how it works:

How Does It Work

To put it simply, dropshipping is when a store or company doesn’t keep the products in stock or manufacture the products themselves. Instead, they purchase the item from a third party and ship it directly to their customer. As a merchant, you will never see or handle the product. What’s the difference between dropshipping and standard retail? The dropshipping merchant does not own any inventory, they are purchasing inventory from the third party, which is usually a wholesaler or manufacturer

From the customer’s perspective, dropshipping will feel just like any other online retail transaction. They don’t know the process or what goes on behind the scenes, they just know they are buying the product they want and receiving it. It goes like this; a hypothetical store called “Print Me” sells online prints for businesses. A customer goes to buy a set of poster prints, so Print Me places an order with their supplier that actually has the inventory of the ready poster prints, and then they send it directly to the customer. In the end, all the customer knows is that Print Me is a great place to buy quality prints!

Here is how it works in three easy steps:

1.    The customer submits an order on the dropshippers’ site.

2.    The dropshipper places an identical order with their supplier.

3.    The supplier then ships the product to the customer.

Benefits of Dropshipping

Dropshipping is currently a steadily growing portion of the total US retail sales! There are many various benefits that you can gain from dropshipping printing orders, both for you as the company and for the customers:

Less Capital Required

The largest advantage of dropshipping your prints is that you will be able to launch an e-commerce store without having to invest a ton of money in inventory from the start. Traditionally, if you are starting up a print business you have to invest thousands of dollars on supplies and machines. If you can’t invest upfront, then you borrow money from the bank. Dropshipping means you won't have to purchase the inventory of your own.

Hands Off

Instead of managing to package and sending orders out yourself, you simply tell your supplier where to send it and pay them. This means you don't have to worry about distribution or inventory. In fact, if you use API printing it's completely hands-off and you have a business that's 90% automated.

Easy to Get Your Business Started

If you want to start a printing business, you can easily find success through being a drop shipper. This will make the process of starting a business easier than ever. Overall, running an e-commerce business is much easier than dealing with manufacturing and physical products. With dropshipping you won't have to worry about:

•    Paying for a warehouse

•    Packaging and shipping

•    Tracking and keeping inventory

•    Constantly ordering products and stocking

I can understand how a business could really benefit from getting the right delivery of its products. Getting them to drop shipped by a professional could allow them to be more cost-effective. It was interesting to learn about how they won't have to invest a ton of money because they don't have to purchase the inventory of their own.
